I want you to know I’ve been thinking
about the smell of thrift stores,
how enough used items in one walled space
always end up smelling the same—
the way black fabric absorbs
light of every spectrum. This means
I’ve been using the word “aromatic”
to refer to ideas that unfold like wine
and that I don’t care anymore, online.
