Decentralized, global work environment. Meetings mostly over Skype or gchat. No one knows what you really look like, how old you are, what color your hair is. Your laptop screen is your office window and the iPhone is a survival device. The money keeps coming in from a few different projects & communal development operations; you aren’t sure who is funding it or where it’s going....

an internet acronym i'm trying to make happen
pajamarama:
TFL (tabbed for later), which you say when someone sends you a link to something and you don’t have time to look at it right then, but you’re opening it in another tab (or have already come across it and opened it in a tab) with the intent of checking it out when you can. There is an element of the social contract to TFL: it implies a promise to discuss the link in question once...

killscreendaily:
With all the HD remakes coming out recently, this is one direction I wouldn’t mind seeing more games head in.

A Mentor by Nature
emilybooks:
by Lauretta Charlton
I read Sempre Susan in one sitting, enthralled. You can never fully anticipate a book having that sort of impact on you, but when it does, it’s hard to ignore. Sigrid Nunez is unsparingly honest about her experience with Susan Sontag, and this creates a queasy tension in the reader: I felt embarrassed for Sontag, a woman who, despite her fierce intellect, could...

This does not necessarily refer to your email.
alexbalk:
There needs to be a term to describe the condition where you keep an email unread in your box because you’re not prepared to deal with it yet, but then you start to hate and resent the person who sent it because it is the only unread email in your box and it sits there silently accusing you with its boldedness. Or maybe I am the only sufferer of said disease.
